G`day Folks I need to replace the steering box on my van and have been told by all the places i`ve called they`re harder to find than rocking horse sh!t and if i did find one it would be just as bad as my one, they cant even get parts for a rebuild. So i`m thinking of upgrading to a MKIII power unit. My question is what is the latest year MKIII i can use that will be a relatively easy swap? All help greatfully accepted. Cheers all Troppo

HI Troppo, I have a Mk2 steering box that you are welcome to, if you are happy to pay the freight? Or a cheaper way is I could gut it for parts and post those over if thats any help? Or Rusty68 on here can probably help you with one, he is near Melbourne.
From what I have read, the only Mk3 PS box that is suitable is from the 1986-1988 LWB van, after that time they switched to independent front suspension. And as it was only an option on these vans, it is very rare. I looked for a couple of years before I found mine.
