So what engine are you going for? Are you staying LHD?

I have a turbo Di for it. RHD will be included in the IFS conversion. I also want it to be a 4 meter bed on 6stud wheels. I have a tatty Mk5 LWB panel van I shall be poaching bits off.

Had a couple of hours this morning to shift a 4.63 axle down from home and take off the leafs for easier storage.

Gutted the engine bay this afternoon. Also took out most of the interior of the cab. Well happy with the amount of rot there isn't (so far).

I've been pondering today the way forwards with a few things. Any views much appreciated.
1, whether or not to cut out and fit the Mk5 transmission tunnel because I'm fitting the Di with MT75?
2, which heater box to use cos I recall the one in the Mk1 camper we had was pretty crap.
3, whether to use a Mk5 driving seat albeit recovered in some period material because the Mk1 seat and my back didn't get on. 4, what rear view mirror to use. original wing mirrors or something akin to a wagons door mirror frame set up.

You dont really need to do the whole floor for the MT75 but as you are going IFS you might as well. Not sure about the heater. Door mirrors on D arm look good on a truck. They can be made up from generic bits. Thd arms from 1980s LTs fit the doors with few mods. The originals are pants. Mk5 seats are a good choice and not too much trouble to fit. All the better if you are recovering them!
