I am confused. Are you not getting the value LESS the salvage and excess? That should leave you a bit to put Cozy right. The VIC is about £60 and you book it at a VOSA test centre. You need insurance but dont need tax to drive there. Not sure about MOT

value less salvage fred but my excess cut into the value wat was left as my excess was £500.00 so not much left mate as the value wasnt that much so after paying the £270 salvage and the £500.00 excess not a lot to play with.do you knw how much it will cost to weld the cab floor and hanger plate and to convert her from petrol.cause apart from theses little repairs all is good with her.

You best ask Muttley mate, though he is South. If I Were you I Would do the repairs first and worry about the rest later mate. Any test left and did you send off the V5 to the insurance co?

To pay for a professional conversion I would think between £600 and £1000 depending on what specification (tank type & size and mixer type mainly) you wanted. Avoid anybody who claims to be able to do it properly in a day, it is possible but you will end up with a messy install and components just put wherever it is easiest for them to put them. If you are competant you could fit a used low spec system yourself for around £100 to £200, budget another £100(ish assuming no faults are found) to get it checked & set up and put on the LPGA register if it matters to you.
I think it sounds like your insurance company made you a very low offer... I hope you manage to get some compensation to at least cover your excess.

well cozy bk home on my drive with all finger print dust on her n the main damage is the steering lock and wires cut so looking like a quick fix.the door to camper i could fix only needs a new ply lining putting in so decisions on wat to do sell as she his fix her up or strip down to sell as parts.and this will make you laugh wen the low loader came with cozy on the 10 tonne loader went onto the green so he could of load cozy into the drive well an hour later cozy still on the truck as the stupid driver of the truck got bogged down on the green so he had to call office to get a recovery truck to come and pull him of the green another 20 mins pass and he gets pulled of so of loads cozy on the street then had to push her bk wards and try and steer it into drive so nearly 3 hours later cozy bk safe in the driveway and looks all sad and dirty.

Wrong answer irish (yes I know its a joke.) Mate you need to find out where your Mrs is coming from. Is it money? Its cheaper to fix cozy than buy another. Is it more personal, like you have been invaded by the thieves? Give cozy a good wash and get her going!

its not about the money.i would rather let cozy stand till i can fix her up.but mrs was scared to even go inside her yesterday.and i have to take her feelings into account as we have been together to long to be arguing about a van.so ad a word with her and she saying sell her or swap cozy and we get another one so if anyone wishes to swap cozy for a similar one or for a transit van then i am willing to do this other wise if anyone on her wishes to buy cozy then i will sell her for £1200 ono.not what i want to do but im taking my wifes feelings into account.their not much to do to get her running again needs the wiring doing and steering lock and ignition barrel and she be running again the entrance door needs a new ply fitting so if anyone intrested then please let me knw thanks
