Just been to see my camper n the bodyshop.
The front end of both chassis rails are complete scrap. (around the spring mounting point ahead of the engine mounting)
Can these be got anywhere? New or used
Can the chassis of a later model be modifed to fit?
My Man thinks he can sort out the cross member but not the chassis rails.
If I can't get the bits, I think I'm going to have to scrap it :-(

Do you mean the front spring hangers mate? The very front of the van? Mk3 ones can be modified to fit

the actual chassis rail itself that goes from front to back is rotten through at the point where the springs are mounted ahead of the engine mounts roughly at teh point the steering box is mounted

Thanks John. Found parts, €200 side plus carriage so I don't know if i can justify paying that.... choice seems to be between paying out another €2000 and having a quite good van and cutting loses and selling for scrap and losing €2000.

put it this way, a lot of the chassis rail is on the workshop floor. Dustpan job.
I might bite the bullet...what's another €400 + ? :-(

I think the cross member under the rad is usable. My Guy is happy with that bit anyway.

Do you mean this bit? They're the front spring hangers from a Mk3 - its the bit of chassis you are refering to I think, those were the first ones I saw and were £30, they're for a mk3 but as said before they can be made to fit.

tbh I don't know. My man is saying I need the whole chassis rail. Presumably those bits fit on to the chassis rail do they? It's the box section chassis rail that has gone. It was in a na accident and repaired pretty poorly hence the problems now
