I don't know what happened, a lot of pics were removed from Photobucket. Luckely I could replace them, they were still on the computer.

With a silver lining. Trying to repair the doorstep.... I took it out (to much work.)
And replaced it.

Started on the engine too, it ran nice but was leaking oil a lot, so it's mostly replacing seals and gaskets.

That engine cleaned up nicely, whats your secret on the alloy parts?

I sandblast all the alloy parts so they are rough. Then I polish them a bit with a brass wirebrush to smoothen them a bit and spraypaint them with a aluminium paint. This paint isn't good enough for parts you want to look chrome but for a alloy finish it is. The trick with the alloy paint from a spraycan is to let it sit after painting for a day or two to keep the gloss.

Great tip about leaving it for a couple of days, i degreased all my alloy and then soda blasted themthey came up nice but yours look much more even and consistant

Boring job.....
The valves back in.
Nice touch!
I've replaced the original inlet for one from a Escort RS2000 and a 32/32mm carb from a 2.0 V6 engine....will that work??

The headgasket and bolts arrived so I could finish it.
I had some work making the Solex functional, I replaced the waterhousing for the auto-choke to get the right diameter for the hoses, welded the lever pick up from the old carb on the Solex and lowered the cable support on the inlet.
Because the carb didn't came with a filter I made my own. If this will work I don't know but I'll find out when it's running.
Behind my back the Mk1 is coming along too.
