That does look clean!, What are you cleaning it up with before you are painting it - I need to do mine soon as the underseal is starting to fall off now but fetching it off with the cup brush on the angle grinder is a nightmare

thanks....its one of the worst killer jobs we all never get around to doing, ive used a cup and a straight wire brush on the grinder,a selection of small wire bits on the drill and a long wide flat screwdriver for the corners,i always use bituminous roofing paint, its about 20 quids for 5L from your local diy,its easy to paint on/dries in half hour and super waterproof, lasts for years too.....be prepared for the black face/achey arms,oh yes...rubber gloves/dust mask/goggles a must !!!!

Argh black bitumastic - thats evil stuff I've seen one labourer looking like he had been tarred and feathered after using the stuff all day near where we were cutting insulation

You will have to fiddle with the driver's mirror to get the view right. The difference in arm length will take the head in line with the quarterlight frame, and obscure your line of sight. Sherpa mirrors of the same era are good for this conversion, the arms aren't handed and they look right on a Mk2. The heads are plastic too so don't rust.

Love the tyres. They suit a county well.

LDV power steering! I have thought about this a lot. I have a feeling somebody tried it and it wouldn't fit well. Will be very interested in seeing how you get on.
