I've started to repair my mk2 after the fire and I'm going to give it a quick resto to freshen it up a bit as been looking tried the last year here a few pic of the result of the fire

No and I'm not going thought mine I'm on trade insurance and the access would be the same if I repaired it myself

Not good, been there (underbonnet fire twice). Won't the headlights clean up? They are thick glass and made to withstand the heat of halogen bulbs. Granted that is probably less heat than the fire looks like.

The head lights have gone they were where ok the night of the fire but when I woke up in the morning they were both cracked looked like some one might have smash them for fun

Bastards. Had headlights chip before, from stones coming up from the road, but never broken. It takes a lot, like a front end smash, to do that accidentally.

I've had a mate of mine weld the bonnet up as the front lip was totally rotten and with the fire burning all the filler off thought better do it right
