I am pretty sure that's a Lomas. Ours (S reg) has some kind of car lights too. Our Hanlon and Wadham have generic bus type lights. The only thing on yours I would worry about is the scuttle/windscreen surround. On a normal van it's not too bad, with an amby it's a mission! Still possible though. Just pop rivet a plate to the original gearlever hole.

Yeah the A pillars and around windscreen is rotten bad! the scuttle itself is new i believe and pretty solid... Would it be possile to pull beading where fibreglass box meets top of screen, cut out pillars as best possible weld some new ones (well 2nd hand) if i manage to get a set. The other parts that need welding wont be to bad (hopefully)

Been there, done that! I won't lie to you seanylad, things will get a lot worse looking before they get any better. I have exactly the same ambulance as you, its a Hanlon body for sure. I had rotten pillars, wings, windscreen surround, A panels and steps. Ended up welding on a new cab from below the bottom hinge on the A pillars up. It's a huge job but worth it! What condition is the rest of the transit part in? Chassis, floors, inner wings, spring hangers etc? The best thing to do is get it in a shed, strip it apart so you can make an assement as to how much work it needs. Bear in mind too, that while the rear body is fibreglass and aluminium, it is wood framed. I ended up replacing quite a lot of teak framing due to wet rot! I don't have pictures on me now, but as soon as I get them I'll send them on.
If you Google image search "funbulance" you'll see mine, its on the road 5 years now since its rebuild. But it started out pretty much like yours, so it is possible!

Chassis looks quite solid, havent had any time to even take a look underneath and remove the underseal to see what the floor is like, doesnt look to bad. It is able to be moved and run but engine locked up yday so just trying to free it off so its movable (possibly) aslong as nothing has been damaged in the pinto engine. Yeah the floor in cab is okay(ish) steps are gone though, did you fabricate most of it your self or buy a cab which was in better condition? Is the teak frame expensive, and hard to do? Thanks ill have a good now and take a look

The good news is all Mk1s are on the up. Bad news is ambies are an acquired taste, appealing to less people than say a standard van. It would be a lot of work to return yours to original, it took us about two years to find the right stretchers to replace the lost ones in our Mk2 (she was stripped to become a camper) and another year to find the O2 cabinet. Personally I would say 'restore' yours to a camper.
