I've just bought a glovebox lid for my mk2 as mine never had a lid.
Can someone post a pic of the part the catch clicks into on the dash as mine doesn't have this bit so I'll need to fabricate one.

I'll see what I can do later. In the meantime, before I realised you could buy the catches as spares in the 80s (not any more), I made a catch from a magnetic cupboard catch. I built it up with filler and it contacted the metal of the van under the dash. The real original catches are hard to come by these days. The glovebox door was part of the custom package, and not too many ordered it from new.

I have the catch in the glovebox, but I just need to know what it latches into on the dashboard. This is the glovebox I've bought, but what does the bit arrowed latch into on the dashboard.

It's a simple plastic hook, held on with two screws, but it protrudes at the right angle to fit the catch. You just made me think, a mate of mine has just bought a 3D printer, this would be the perfect thing to reproduce with it!

I thought as much. I was going to try and make something out of metal.
Can you take a pic of it so I can get an idea of the shape?

There you go. There's a strong chance these can be 3D printed

Well if you have one Muttley that would be great. But for now I've made a striker and fitted it. Looks much better with the lid instead of a hole there! Cleaned and refurbished the lid The striker I made. Not amazing but you can't see it anyway and it does the job And all fitted and shuts properly
