what do you guys do when ya drill bits go blunt?found out today that no one in our local town does a sharpening service as I can't afford to buy a sharpener.seems stupid to chuck them away anyway cant afford to replace them all anyway.

What they said, a bench grinder is about 20£ for a cheap one. Am not quite sure why but I used to really struggle getting therm sharp then suddenly it just clicked how to do them so it does just come down to practise. You can buy proper dedicated drill sharpeners as well but when I tried on I didn't get any better results

yep same, on the bench grinder.Larger drills easier to sharpen, but I have even sharpened 2mm drill bits with some success!

bench grinder looks handy.my toss up would be bench grinder or sheet of metal that I need!!

dodge.when you say you used a cheap sharpener with no better results is that that they were still blunt or no better than the grinder?

I got just as good a results with the grinder, the sharpener was easier mind you but didn't do larger than 10mm
