There was a D reg white LWB twin wheel van in Bristol when my dad had his C reg, I always remember it, used to park by my school in Hanham.
Also my Dad's C reg (C426 CFB) was a German built van. Best van we ever had and seemed better built than our previous A reg Southampton built Transit.

According to the Transit club the first mk3 rolled off the production line 2nd December 1985. Interesting! Being an October 1985 build must have been one of the very last ones Was going on our two mate! They are chassis cabs though so maybe the vans were German built? I though Germany did the LHD vans for the Euro continent. According to most of the VIN decoders "WFO" is Germany/Genk build. I think Southampton was "SFA" prefix from memory?

Last Southampton Mk2 July 1985 (manufacture) Mk2 registered as late as 1987 on an E reg(Fred has one) as for the rest of the world it's not so simple, German vans were still being built late 1985

Is there a VIN decoder for pre 1980? As mine is nothing like that.
Mines GBVVUP773730, can anyone decode it?
Scrub that found a decoder, it's a Ford of Germany Gene built van, and is an August 78 build, that sound right?
