I've been looking for a few weeks now and I'm wanting a mk1 transit van. I do need it working as a van but also a good promotion tool for my business. Any information from you guys would be much appreciated. What to look out for and what to avoid. And of course if you have something for sale then get in touch. Adam

They are all old vehicles now and like anything metal like to rot, lots, so have a good look everywhere for it. Now isn't a good time for buying really as there have been a few program's on TV showing them making a lot of money so everybody thinks anything is worth a fortune on ebay

If you re wanting one ready to go for a business, there are a few low mileage ones on ebay,
A bit overpriced though,

What do you actually need it to do? Will it be expected to work in place of a modern van and earn it's keep or just look pretty as a rolling advert?

NO WAY!! That looks just like Kim did (only blue not white) when we got her. It is a very early one though (two louvres and the back door handle going the wrong way) We paid £200. Also that modern thing looks a tad over...

As you say Dan £500 is what id say,
looks like its being festering for a good few years in a barn with no roof !
A lot of work ahead by the looks of it, i dont think a steam clean and t cut will be enough.
For that money you could just drive a better one back from abroad,
I think it was said that, what someone wants and what its worth are 2 different things,
When no one goes to look or people are no where near £3k thats when he will realise what it is actually worth.

It is a flat front van though which are scarce. Mid to late sixties. Probably the most sought after. Love to see Dan work his magic on that. I wouldn't be surprised if he gets close to what he is asking. This forum probably helps push the price up . Wonder if the mechs are original. if you are going to do a lot of work on one it is good to start with one of the first. Somebody needs to go to check out Pakistan!

And feet that go through the floor if you push to hard..reminds me of on old PA Cresta my dad had,the ICE in the front passenger seat used to be "watch the road son,see if yo see anything"cos there wernt hardly any footwells left.
