after seeing many projects on the go I thought I'd have a poke around with the 2 front doors I bought for banana the minibus passenger door has minimal rust at the bottom and only 2 tiny dents near the window and the window winder works. the inside edge just needs grinding mainly drivers door needs a little bit more work but not too bad one bit of advice.on the drivers door the edge where the door skin folds over is rusted as can be seen but it is only the lower bit.would I get away with cutting that off and welding a new one on taking into account it sticks out abit or should I replace the whole inner bottom? not bad doors for £5 easch

When ric done mine he cut the outer skin and unfolded the bottom. The inside section was just surface rust which he just hit with a wire brush tool on a drill. He cut and bent some steel to fit and welded it every few inches, then went over and welded the seam, ground it back and this is how it looks

Gawd mate Alex's doors were about like that. We used the ones off the donor.

They aren't bad at all are they. As above really same as I did with mine but do the repair to the inner as well. You could do that in the shed on a rainy day

looks like you will deffo get away with just replacing the lower lip john. i had to get the inner repair sections for my mk2 doors as the rot had travelled way further than them ones you have.

must say i'm quite happy with them even if it did cost €100 to get them here and falling out with sister
