HI ALL, I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS '82 LWB, HAVING BEEN ON THE LOOK OUT FOR SOME TIME, ITS APPEARS EXTREMELY SOUND WITH THE USUAL REPAIRS REQUIRED, I'M AWAITING A BODY SHOP ESTIMATES BEFORE I MOVE FORWARD ON THIS.

Yep its auto, Started life as a York, got swapped out at some stage, the rad is sporting a leaky oil cooler for the transmission. I've never driven an auto before. bambi, Billy Coleman was a little before my time, Coleman's garage sold Fiat for years, its now a very successful Kia dealers, but still holds it link with the past with New Holland's in the forecourt. ya lovin the local reg. last time I seen a lwb for sale was almost 5 years ago, a blue one in Dublin. I never followed it up, I had a notion I'd be knocking across these every week

As I bought it from garage with no background, I made a few calls to get some history
I was keen to find out how it survived as cross member, chassis, floors, gutter rails, inner wings, all solid
Spoke to one previous owner who always parked it indoors while he had it, as did the man before that who drove it on gas, explains why its not swiss cheese

Interior is different on a phase 2 also. All the plastics are grey or dark grey, not black like on a phase 1.
Also the bumper end caps are longer on a phase 2.

Tin front, you know it makes sense Yep, but only cos it's original phase1. I prefer the phase2.

Got a quote back today to get this lady welded up & painted, coming in at €5k plus vat & I'm supplying all the replacement part required.
Still trying to digest it, I know it needs a lot of work, I could possibly buy a finished van very close to this money with out the hassle.
I have asked two others also to price it, got reply "were too busy" & no real interest in this kinda work, so back to square one!!
On a different note, A guy offered me a '85 DI swb panel van during the week, went to see it today,
Its not for me, needs the usual work, but away too good to break.
I can pass on the contact info.
