Hello. thought i'd show my car on this site, might happen i need help with something in The future and this seems to be a great forum. Bought it last year and we loved it, took every momebt we could to go out and live in it.. Right after purshase i put in a twin seat so everyone could go out camping. (me, girlfriend and our 2,5year old girl Elise) Gf fixed The interior and then we where satisfied with it.

This is what it looked like last year after we fixed The interior and gave it a wash:) We agreed on that The forest Green kind of made The transit look lika we where going to Rob houses or lurk outside school yards so for this year we matched The exterior with the interior:) It has central water heating that works great so for this year im planing on some late summer fishing with a friend of mine. Passed The swedish equivalent of an MOT yesterday so now where looking at places to go:)

Thanks:) it looked better in Green on picture than in real life. I have seen a lot o well made restorations on this forum, this one is more of a 5meter van, it looks great standing 5 meters away

Thanks for The kind words and welcoming! Just wondering, what visc. Oil are you guys running your v4 engines with? Extra thick or just standard 10w40? Thinking about a long trip this summer and The van revs kind of high so i want to do an oil change with the best possible oil type before The trip.

Run my 1.7 v4 on 10/30 mineral oil.Ford manual says 10/30 or 10/40 mineral oil for general use,20/50 when used in temperatures exceeding 32'c. My Van seems to run better on 10/30 than 10/40.From info read the v4 engines do prefer mineral oils, semi and full synthetic oil apparently decrease bearing life,I haven't tried this to confirm though! I've done quite a few long trips using this grade oil.

Welcome along mate nice van I'm liking the idea of gulf colours ☺ I've got millers classic 20/50 in mine but it sounds like I maybe using the wrong grade false info in the past from somewhere it seems :-(

Mineral oil is a no brainer in old cars as far as i know. I was thinking 20/50 because i dont know The wear of The engine but i wold imagine it 's "well used". Maybe ill try a run with 20/50 and se if The oilpressure pops up some:) planing on refurbishing The engine this coming winter, cylinderhead work and change The balance bearing for peace of mind:) kind of makes me thing about one of my other cars, change The ims bearing in my 911(996) this winter just for peace of mind:)

Wouldn't recommend trying 20/50 unless your in the correct temperature range, put it in mine for a very short while and I had oil leaks etc pop up,had valve seat problems that go noticeable worse very quickly, that was using 20/50 in summer Spain, pretty sure Ralph on here changed to 20/50 in his 1.7 colonge that was running ok and his balance shaft snapped ( uk temps), obviously the choice is yours, but they do seem run better with the 10/30.20/50 seems to bring potential problems on not hold them off.
