There are two types of winder mechanisms mate, the window channel matches them. The early Mk2 and Mk1 has a worm drive channel U shaped type, the window channel screws to the mechanism. The later Mk2 has an arm with a nylon bush on the end, and the window has a channel at the bottom edge of it that the arm travels across. You will still have the fitting if the glass has been smashed, so if somebody can get you a plain glass it can be fitted with the channel and fitted to the van. The glass itself is not handed.

It is worth mentioning that the worm drive appreciates being lubricated from time to time.
