Oh yee of little faith! Yes having travelled the length and breadth of the m25 to get the new single carb fitted (big enine bay, no more burning hands trying to set the twin carb), puk fired up valiantly (fanks Mutts). Clanking got worse. Finally gave up trying to get home by the a2 on the afternoon that wind closed the bridge. Gave up at 13.30...home on the back of a rescue by 20.30... Several tearful, distraught, resigned, falalist and eventually sniffy happy texts later a couple of plans were borne by Muttley. I never realised the challenge this adventure would bring of trying to keep a vintage camper on the go. I never foresaw the very best of people that puk would attract. The t9 or a 4 speed with an upgraded diff seems the way to go. I have a good contact in clacton who is helping with parts that Mutts may not have (there aren't many) and in identifying a cost effective long term solution. I wish you all a fantastic new year and the very best of journeys

Get an MT. Then you will have a happy New Year. Alex is only due a replacement after 10 years or more. During that time shes been to Paris and back been fully loaded at motorway speeds and the box wasnt new when it was fitted.

Prop is a problem with MT,Puk has a one piece prop with slider at rear of gbox. Would need a hybrid 2 piece with centre slider for the MT, Puk has no centre bearing or a mounting for one

AND? When we had an OD years ago the center bearing had to have a new mounting cos the OD's prop was very different. Shouldnt be a prob to you Mutts!

Im sure time and money can accomplish many things. Unfortunately both are limited and therefore Mutts is restricted in his work. A hybrid prop is looking expensive and puk is not going anywhere.
