well after about 8 weeks i've found a unit near to where i live , also been busy on the web finding more parts for the rebuild so can now start to strip the van and see just how much damage there is i've managed to get a scuttle with windscreen pillers off a van that was been scrapped so this will help replace the rotten lower parts. as you can see usual parts rusting away as i progress with the strip will put more pics and info on.

Well spent a couple of hours stripping some more stuff off the van and was suprised that its not as bad as i was expecting. the floor has a couple of holes in it , and the front cross member shot but i knew this anyway. next step is to remove the engine and gearbox and see what else has rotted away. for all the fabricated panel parts this will be done using high zinc steel sheeting this should hopefully stop the recurrance of the dredded metal eater and out last me . Once fabricated parts are done and all other metal work cleaned i will be treating with frosts p.o.r. to stop any rust re-appearing.Will put up next instalment soon. Attachments:

Hi all been a while since last up date so here goes . have not done any work since end of nov due to going on holiday and work commitments ,but on sunday 9 feb decided its time to get back to work on the van i enlisted a couple of freinds to help the idea was to strip out the engine and box so to start removing all old paint and underseal.we got to work and the engine was soon out then my wife and helper decided to strip out the back end to see what the damage was, alas the floor by the rear door had rotted and was repaired albe it poorley with chipboard and sombody had fitted an outside light the hole that was drilled into the alloy body was not sealed so water ingress had set in and the timber frame is rotten . Now even more work good job i know a couple of decent carpenters who i will try to inlist in the project (free of charge hopefully)if not will threaten with the wife that should do the trick. After the engine was removed on closer inspection found that inner wings were in very good shape along with bulk head on light rust and mybe patching up two holes the size of a 50 pence piece over the christmas period the new front valance arrive along with crossmember and finishing panels till next time. having a go at this pic malarky i996.photobucket.com/albums/af88/MICKSCHOPPERz750chop/toddie%20restoration/rearfloor_zpsaca328f9.jpg" src="http://i996.photobucket.com/albums/af88/MICKSCHOPPERz750chop/toddie%20restoration/20140209_140724_zpsa3c72ac4.jpg" style="max-width:100%;"]
