Bought it a little over a year ago and have done some work on it, not that much because it was in a relatively good condition. The biggest work I've done is welding in new wheel arches at the rear and after that a respray of the rear fenders. It is a 1982 model into which the former owner put a 1986 engine when the original engine broke down. I've sandblasted and painted all the rims and put on new summertyres as well as new studded wintertyres. I also changed all the oils and filters, all ignition parts, camshaft belt & tensioner, fanbelt, thermostat and oilseal on rear axle. Surprisingly the brakes was in perfect condition after 4 years of stand still! It passed the "MOT" without a note, which here in Sweden is every 2 years on cars more than 30 yeras old. //Robert Just bought it. Just bought it. After fixing rust & paint, before new tyres. After fixing rust & paint, before new tyres. New summer tyres on.

very nice! I like the way the phase1 has Mk1 wheels and hub caps Wheels are the original ones, rims are stamped with year "81". All rims are tubeless type, except one which I guess comes from a Mk.1.

Yesterday I took a trip around the county, a little over 300 kms. It included a 70 kms long classic car rally where you stopped at checkpoints and answered a question on each checkpoint, a total of 13 questions. It was 80 cars and a few motorcycles, 30 years or older, starting the rally. We were two guys with 11 points in the commercial class, splitting the first price. My new studded winter tyres works really well, and even starting on roads with snow and ice on them going up was not a problem, much thanks to a 150 kgs used gravestone which i put in the back to get better grip.

Thats an inventive use for a gravestone!! We use paving (sidewalk) stones or bags of gravel. Looking good!

Thats an inventive use for a gravestone!! We use paving (sidewalk) stones or bags of gravel. Looking good! It's good to have about 150 kgs of "dead weight" in the back. The frontside of the gravestone is facing the floor, so the name is not visible.
