Hi Irish, I realized the other day that I've owned it a year and it still isn't on the road so I gave myself a kick up the arse. I also sold one of my MK1 Escort project cars as I thought I'm never going to do it and it put some money in the pot for Transit parts. Today we got the engine in and running, just a few bits to finish off and a new water pump on the way (hopefully the right one this time!) Next on the to do list is rebuild the rear brakes. I want it on the road for Beaulieu.

Replacement engine is now in and running. Got a few teething troubles to sought but its progress. Have stripped the rear brakes and am currently hunting down parts. Anybody know where I can get a rear flexible brake hose for a MK2 LWB twin wheel Transit?

Stripped the rear brakes off this weekend. Now have a list of parts needed, hopefully most of them have been found/ordered from ebay and are on their way. We will see if the correct bits turn up. Jason

Rear brakes rebuilt on the weekend. Silly little clip things flew across the workshop on serveral occasions causing mutterings not suitable for those with sensitive ears! But done now.

Forgot to mention, found you can use a MK3 rear brake hose on a MK2. All you need to do is file one of the locating lugs off.

Today managed to find the holy grail of waterpumps, one for an early 2.5Di with a viscous fan thread. I bought it quick.

I always found it was best to reuse the old ones. There was a special tool with a taper cone for filling them although I never had one .

'Frosts' sell the spring clip tool for the rear brakes. It doesn't quite fit the Transit clip exactly but it still worked. I had a good weekend on the Transit, got the kingpins greased, front wheel bearings greased and adjusted and new calipers and hoses fitted! Just got to sort the servo which now seems to be loosing vaccum and I might have brakes.
