Well almost, I sent all of the paperwork off to DVLA today to get it registered. Hopefully it will come back within a couple of weeks and I can then get some No. plates made. Then I can drive it !!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! Just out of interest what class MOT did you put it in for?

Its the lightest of the twin wheelers 3000kg max so has a class 4 MOT. A made a few enquiries and apparently if it was 3001kg it would have been a class 7. Hopefully thats good enough for DVLA. Once its registered I hope to start on the fun stuff!

Mines the same a 130, all the MOT's I have have it as a class 4, not that the MOT man was especially bothered this time - Brake testing weight came up as something very wierd on the computer though apparently - he guessed someone got lbs and kg mixed up at some point when they were entering it... His ramps went into slow mode lifting and lowering it....

Remind me, is this the LWB that came from Italy?

Yes thats the one. Was supposed to be a 'quick' project, but they never are. Its had some welding in the usual places, although the main chassis sections are super clean and never been welded. MOT guy reckons he hasn't seen one that clean since they were 3 years old. Its lhd with 2.5Di and 4spd with overdrive, which works!. Was owned in Italy by one guy who had an olive grove and used to use the van to take them to market etc. It has one opening side door, rear tailgate and opening quarter windows. I think its excellent, just so cool to drive around in. Roll on my number plates!

According to my Ford manual it weighs 1670kgs empty, so I still wouldn't want to push it. Still lighter than one of my cars. Jas.

Good News the Transit is now on the road,Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mot'd, Taxed, Registered, No. Plated and diesel in the tank.
A few issues have come to light since I've been driving it around, firstly its very slow, 56mph flat out down hill with a tailwind and its very noisey so much so that I need to wear ear plugs. But at least I can drive it and make improvements as I go along.
