that looks a bit like a road ranger. Good luck with the build mate. Two moths to finish to a living standard is a tough deadline!

Well the caravan was a bit shite but it has all metal exterior and is already completly cleared since its been used as a breakroom for christmas tree selling. So I might have to replace the timbers inside and redo the insulation but that will still be cheaper than building my own box. Oh and I haggled it down from 120€ to 30€ which is why I am even considering going this route.

Yep luckily for me the guy was desperate to get rid of it since one of the bars in the A-frame is rusted out and requires alot of welding to get it to pass MoT. So I will slap a "slow vehicle" triangle(in sweden caravans/trailers are registered as a vehicle in their own right) on it and chuck the plates in the boot, and go reeeeaaaaly slow on the way home.

Thank you thank you I am well chuffed with this purchase aswell I know i will probabaly have to raplce all the timbers in the roof and walls but that will still not come close to the cost of building a new livingspace from scratch

So I've checked the price on the timber I will need its about 0.7€ a meter and I will probably use oilcured board instead of plywood on the inside since its cheaper and doesn't absorb moisture.

ok o i forgot to take som exterior pic of the caravan but heres one to show how condensation starts and ruins hardboard. See the width of the timber? And the thinness of the insulation? Yeah that gap between the sheet of aluminium leaves looots of room for condensation to form and warp the hardboard and rot the plywood and timbers of your caravan or campervan.

The Vinplate only shows Max weight :/ But i checked the broschures and naked my chassis cab should weigh in at about 1300 kilos with the extra bits added to the chassie.
But I'm still gonna go to the weigh-station on friday and weigh it before the temporary MoT expires since i still haven't got my kingpins :/. If I havent got an answer from the guy on tuesday I'm cancelling my order since he promised 7-10 business day delivery and that's 15 business days ago.

I have decided to invest in of these. They seem to swear by them on all the vintage caravan forums I've been on, for precis removal of rotten timbers.

Its a perfectly normal chassis mate! Been there twice. Three times if you count replacing a luton body.
