Hello All, new to the forum today but i have been keeping an eye occasionally as I have been thinking of getting a mk1 for some time. I am looking for a early mk1 pickup project, i have posted in the wanted section, but I would like to know what different wheelbase configurations the early model chassis-cabs were offered in? And also, what is the actual length of those wheelbases (swb, mwb, lwb etc.)

Welcome along .have you thought about getting a camper and removing the body Thank you, yes I have thought of that, and would consider it. I have actually been considering making my pickup body easily removble so that i could swop it with a camper body temporarily. This of course would give me a problem with the rear panel and right now this idea is not the driving force behind getting the vehicle. I'm just looking to get a pickup on the road for the moment.

Pretty sure the lengths are in the pin up brochures section in the transit technical As for temp camper body. The rear pannel could be standard chassis can and you just enter the camper from the outside. I've often toyed with the idea of making my tipper removable and having a car transported beaver tail to fit Only 10 bolts to remove tipper frame, Though in reality it's a lot more hasstle then it's worth. (Speaking from experience with a Multi function bodied Landrover) Your best bet is to have two transits lol.

The rear panel is exactly the same as the van bulkhead up to the Mk5 (2000) less the very bottom corners which are easy to replace.
