Is it an important panel that needs replacing as ya have the valance and the panel that goes across the chasis?the only reason i ccan see it being there is for behind the number plate lights.

All my rear valence's genuine and pattern have this inner panel fitted. I will look through my 2nd hand panels to see if i can remove it from a valence.

done some more chopping out today.get my replacement rear repair panel all lined up so attacked the lower corner.it side panel above has an inch or so rot so will make a panel to fit. the lower panel is absolutely rotted.quick question.whilst cutting it out I found about a quarter of it from the arch was double skinned would that have been part of the wheel arch panel?if so does it matter if I don't replace it as it has some rot?it is the darker area to the left in the pic. and a lot of rebuilding to the corner.the back plate isn't as rotten as I thought and should just need patching which means adding the outter panel should have original lines to add to.

well over the last week I've been making repair panels for the areas that need the work and after much trimming and testing I managed to tack a couple in. first the inner rear valance corner of the n/s floor also made the inner rear lower panel but that needs work at the moment.

cheers.had to remove the rear panel as I had made the nearside 1cm too tall(forgot about the bit of floor lip I left) so tacked it back on today.slid the rear valance in place after bending it about abit and all seems well.the door catches it abit but used a ratchet strap from corner to towbar and it don't anymore.got to work on the lower and inner panel tomorrow but the weather is still shite here.

If it is a joint that wasn't originally there the MOT man would usually want it seam welded - but if you try and do it in one hit you'll usually build up lots of heat and distort things, do a bit stop move on do another bit then repeat, then repeat again (an again) to fill in the gaps, that way you'll minimise heat build up and distortion.

cheers dodge.once I'm finished it it'll be painted/undersealed over so welding shouldn't be visible for the mot man.

tried to do a bit of seam welding the other day when it wasn't overly sunny and failed as with the white dot I couldn't see the joint properly so definitely need a new mask as it doesn't work after about 10 mins or so. done somemore today as it's nice and sunny and done fairly well.slapped some rust oleum on to help. rear inner panel kinda seam welded and plug welded to chasis and rigger been making up an inner rear corner panel.just need to shape it around the arch area.
