am looking for a mk1 or mk2 swb van i dont mind doing work to it but really needs to be somthing i can have on the road straight away as the only place i can keep one is out on the road and so would need to be taxed mot'd insured ect. ive also got a kawasaki gt550 trike mot'd till end of august 2015 dont really want to get rid as took me long enough to build but would consider a swap for a van im based in crawley and would be ideal if anything could come to me as have no way of recovering. can anyone let me know if anything is about out there ?

Welcome mate. Are you lookinf for a standard van cos I have a Mk2 phase2 hi top SWB camper if that's of interest. It needs a couple of bits (diesel injection pump swap, bumper refitting) but otherwise good to test (can do that for you). It wouldn't take much but it won't happen in a couple of weeks! What is your timescale?

What is your timescale? i really would preffer a standard metal roof really i always thought if i had a camper i could strip it out but as for the roof well i can weld but its finding a replacment roof to weld in i am interested tho dont really want to get rid of the trike but am short on cash saved up £500 so far but then i need money to insure it to hence why a swap works better for me as the 500 would go towards insurance am in no rush to get my hands on one right now but would like one soon tho as i said as soon as one arrives it will be parked up on the road outside my house so id have to get it legal asap after it arrives to stop it getting towed away. i did see a blue mk2 on ebay not sure if you saw it ? was a minibus last on the road in 2012 think it was £1600 or best offer somthing like that would be ideal for me

I am confused. You say the van has to be legal, yet mention a minibus that hasn't been on the road for three years. Which is it mate? The Mk2 I have would have a new MOT.

std roof's turn up quite regularly if that helps, Ralph on here seems to carry on finding stuff for breaking, in fact he may even have a roof at the moment!
Edit Fred are you sure you are feeling OK? Selling one of yours?

what one was ? confused lol As a rule Fred never wants to be parted from one of her Transits Well not willingly. The RAC parted us from a Mk2 Luton. They severely damaged her. OT but don't trust the RAC and don't use the RAC as they refused to admit liability. The camper I am talking about is a pro conversion. It's a Hi top so maybe not for the original poster as it's an ideal starter camper.
