Now I look closely they aren't Mk1 lights. The old pic made it look like it. The ones I am thinking about are the plastic chrome edged light with a separate thick rubber bumper in the middle. Later mk2 phase1 rear lights are plain 50/50 red and amber.

Later mk2 phase1 rear lights are plain 50/50 red and amber. oh ok well as i said his was a 1978 phase 1 he had loads of mk1 mk2 swb panel vans and that one was the last was scrapped in 2004 after 400k miles

Have you tried at Bridges? They might have one you can adapt even though they don't have much old stuff in the yard. Failing that disco or range rover would be a good starting point
