yea id rather have it as a panel van than a camper anyway. so id weld on a metal roof and fill the side windows back in its still got its vents to so wouldnt look out of place if it was paneled would make a nice van but a lot of work i got the skills and the tools to do it but i dont have the money to buy it or a workshop as cant really have that on my drive

How often do early panel vans with V4 and through the floor pedals become available? To be fair not too often. TBH the more I talk about it and think, the more I am thinking Elenor the minibus needs to be converted to a van.

Good idea. Does the minibus have the pillars between the two side windows like the kombi? Been thinking of doing the same to mine

She's a factory minibus so double skinned. I think the cost of a new headlining (the rear quarter of it's missing) and finding a full set of early seats is near impossible. We have what's left of the donor, including side panels, BUT only one louvre!! Kim still doesn't have one either.

What happened to the low mileage crashed orange Lwb you had Fred? That was a mk1 wasn't it?

Still got it down the yard. Some of the bits got nicked when scrap was high (roof, a door) but will be able to do it with bits of the donor now!

There's one born every minute. Just because an auction ends with a high bidder, doesn't mean the highest figure was achieved honestly or the winner will pay up. Many many vans go round and round, it's obvious the are either 'sold' to dreamers or have been shill bid. Also the other option is the auction ends, the winner turns up and promptly walks away empty handed with their money. My point being, looking on ebay at prices is not the best indication.

I didn't think it was on ebay. I still believe that if you going to spend a lot of time and money you want to get a van that is correct to start with ie a van (as per VIN) and not a Kombi or Bus, V4 original possibly, through the floor pedals etc. If it is a legit sale (which I hope it is) then it is gratifying that the new owner has somewhat deep pockets to do a good resto. Hope it comes on here!

I do get the sale for this one wasn't on ebay. I was mentioned to look on ebay for prices. That's all.

Yes, I agree eBay has created all sorts of bizarre pricing

Always has, its not really a good guide for anything really ?
Auctions do suck people in,
Although i got some brand new mk1 indicator complete units for 99p ?
My best ever bid.
