Considering the mods you've got planned looks a good place to start, reasonable price too.Never seen a set of rear lights as sun bleached as those!,good seats too.Looking at "supervan1"pics a lot of the rot around the arch/footwell area will be new fabrication for front wheels/tyre combo anyway.

as you say, with what i want to do, its ideal, no point cutting a good one about, and if it all gets to much, i haven't lost to much money

not sure if its crossflow or v4, but engine and box will be sellable as well, i have a friend that bands steels as well, so you know whats happening to the wheels with the original caps for now, i'm probable going to put something modern under the bonnet for now, and a mk7 axle to give me a good ratio, while i'm sorting the bits i need for conversion, may as well make use of it for the time being if its not to far gone

I'd be keeping those lenses on the back and running colored bulbs, never seen a mk1 with clear lenses

the one down side i can see is that its a tail gate, and converting to doors would be a nightmare, but i do prefer a tailgate.

Tailgate will keep the rain off when working on drive train, same with side door, although you didn't want one, would make access to running gear a lot easier. Lift up back also means your not gonna get rubberneckers leaning on your doors to see what it's running.

the side door will probably get replaced with a panel to make the shell more rigid, if it had 2 side doors i would have kept them, but 1 needs to go, will get my mate to do a wrap of the tailgate to make it look like twin doors
