Got a quote back today to get this lady welded up & painted, coming in at €5k plus vat & I'm supplying all the replacement part required. That seems a lot to me but i'm out of touch, what about oldskooler does he do that type of thing for a living?

jesus that does seem a lot for a van that looks fairly tidy.sounds more like them trying to put you off

That's a good point. It's a 'can't lose price'. They don't want to do it, so give you a wildly high price. If you walk away that's fine. If you take it they're quids in. That said, even Muttley said he wasn't ready for how much work Alex needed. She looked bad, but it was far worse than she looked when he got started. And lo and behold, Camilla's doing it again!! So that will contribute to the price too.

i know that one the guy i bought mine off said it needs no welding as its just passed its mot but once i start digging deep into bits you cant se on the mot or that pass as its not strucual or the bad repairs that need cutting out and redoing then suddenly ive cut half the van up and got lots of welding to do but kinda expected it needed welding before i bought it and at least i know when im done ill have a good solid mk2 in tidy condition
