New on here , hello all!
The last time I drove a MK1 transit it was a 1971 beavertail recovery with an asthmatic 1700 v4. I always fancied a mk1 but could never find one good enough, as vans are like cows, nobody keeps them as pets....
My MK1 twb is date of first reg 4/3/76 , I checked the vin number which states that it has an RU code which is October 75. any idea how I can get a document to prove this to DVLA so that I can claim tax free?
I had this with my MK1 capri GT and they gave me a letter from the club which did it.

Sadly we don't have an 'official' letterhead. Maybe Muttley (who's a qualified engineer) could give you a letter? You only have six months to wait!! Is the van on the road?

Just contact Fords and get them to confirm the build date, send that reply off to DVLA.
