The LEZ only affects diesel vehicles. The new, proposed ULEZ inside the A406 will affect diesel and petrols registered before 2005, excluding Historic tax exempt vehicles. If it comes in, you need to pay £10 a day to go inside the A406 ONLY. There are NO plans to include petrol powered vehicles into the LEZ.

Then you are fine. The LEZ is basically inside the M25, and only applies to diesel vans. I thought you didn't like to travel

You do not need to pay it your van is petrol. There is no charge for petrol ATM. Is your dad talking about congestion charge not lez?,to avoid that you just need to look at a route that avoid congestion charge areas, don't know if Kews in it(didn't used to be),but it's near the boarders,so route planning may be needed,or just travel in before 7.00 am or after 6.00 pm(unless that's changed now as well!) just looked at map,Kews well out of it,congestion charge areas look more north of river than South.

It's not "old" vans, it's pre 2000 DIESEL vans, you can go where you like in your PETROL van for FREE
