Duck made it around Wales with no issues and covered 1100 miles in all. Very pleased
except
I found it tough going driving with my back problem (I have 7 vertebrae badly worn due to Osteo Arthritis) and suffered a lot of pain and discomfort. I think I'm going to have to sell him....where would be the best place to advertise (other than here of course)
Didn't help that I found my garage had helpfully reset all my tyre pressures to 30psi which made steering it something the Incredible Hulk would find a tad vexing

What about a more comfortable seat?

If you are on the original seat, it might be an idea to look for a new seat, before you sell the van! Would you sell your house if your sofa was uncomfortable?

it's not just that, the steering is heavy and the van, as you know, doesn't exactly drive like a modern vehicle and it's not a problem that will go away. the difference between 1100 miles this year and 7500 last highlights the extent of my problem unfortunately...i'm having to face facts.

Does look nice, had you thought about one of those exchange electric power steering columns off eBay,or is it just time to move on?

it's a problem that's not going to go away. The difference between this year and last is very marked. Selling it for what it owes me might not be easy in Ireland, so I might manage a few more trips yet. Meanwhile the Capri just went away to get the engine sorted.

Hope all goes well for you, used to go to Swanage every year as a kid for summer hols, never knew it had a railway!West Somerset is good for going to the smaller villages and spotting people with the same squinty eyes but different families(!?!) if you get round all the trains....
