It's quite straightforward as they are the same basic block. You also don't have glow plugs on the DI. That's a banana isn't it? I am not sure if the York intake manifold will fit.

An early DI, with the air cleaner on top of the engine. Your York one may fit, ask Muttley!

York inlet manifold wont fit .You can use the exhaust one though, saves modding the zorst. You should be able to use the banana inlet and put the air box down on the chassis leg.You will have to move the washer bottle if so.

We've put the air cleaner on top of the engine on the Mk2 before, using the early DI. manifold we once put the original air box at the side, it didn't look right.

You can swap inlets though, and avoid siting the air box at the side of the engine.

Ok thanks for your advice. Mine is a lhd that I bought and shipped from Sweden. Really good solid body. The new donors engine come from a friend. An old ice cream van. So hasn't been worked hard for last 10 year. Do I need to modify the tunnel to fit the 5 speed box ? I'm new to the transit things. I normally do this with my old escorts. Any help much appreciated. The type9 fits without changing the floor. The MT75 needs to have a new hole as the gear lever comes through the floor to the right of the original 4 speed. At least, that's on a RHD.

If you are changing box as well you will need to modify gearbox crossmember and propshaft.

You will need Mk2 Di mounts for the chassis and remove the Mk1 crossmember.
