Strange one with van yesterday, started and ran fine from cold, few short trips, then stopped for few hours, got back in van, started on the button, gave it a little throttle, revved, just died after being on the button like it just had no fuel, oil and alt light on,tried restart, engine turned fine, took air filter lid off, fuel ok, choke butterfly working (didn’t look/smell flooded) , span it no go, checked plug leads (got accuspark system,so no points to check) all appeared fine. span over no joy. All checks left me scratching head thinking ‘ wtf, it’s all as should be’. Got the dogs back on leads, resigned to walking to nearest village, locked up back, etc. Tried it last time and on the button, all ok since. Vans running as well as it ever has, engines sounds sweet and I try to keep as on top of van as poss.,never happened before. Out of habit starting vans same procedure, cold two pumps of throttle, warm one, really does normally start on the button, adj. valves 1500km ago,checked/cleaned gapped plugs same time, same as levels etc, check levels every 300km.not touched it electrically since alternator bearings. One of those things (old age stroppy fit) or pointers?

Hasn’t happened again since, put it down to stroppy poltergeist not wanting to give up it’s sunbed space on beach, can take the van out of Germany, but can’t take the German out of the van 😃
