Had some issues with fuel recently. Done all the obvious things, changed filter, new washers, checking fuel lines, I got the van to run.and it runs well. Stopped and started few times, everything good. Next morning , have to keep turning over til battery is nearly dead, to get it to fire up. Seems to me the fuel keeps draining back. Anyone know why this is? Thanks

Sounds more like an airlock, is it parked on a hill/ slope?

Have you checked if there is fuel present when you come in the morning, have you tried bleeding it before you try to start it.

Thanks for the responses, it's not flat ground around here, but there's loads of fuel in the tank. And that's never been an issue before but who knows . Il bleed it again in the morning , before turning it over. Ideally you don't want to bleed it every morning before turning it. Il know more or il know less in the morning Cheers

Sounds like evaporation to me with this hot weather & a hot engine.

I only say try bleeding it to see if indeed fuel has drained from the filter or pump lines. If it starts after being bled then youknow thats the trouble, if it is that I would try a new filter head. Also, how long does your glow plug light come on for? I modified one of mine with a direct feed to the glow plugs and a button via a relay to feed them for a longer time, it worked for me. Last point, have checked glow plugs are actuall working

If its a diesel could be the o ring on filter not sitting properly. Remove filter and check that. Before you start you can pump some diesel up by hand?
If it is petrol check the float in the carb and also check for leaks.

Thanks again for the responses, il definitely look at glow plug . I was told if I just put a voltmeter on glow plug and you get 12 volts it's good. Is that correct mutely . Cheers

Its not just the supply voltage that matters, you should get around 12.5 volts on the main connection but you will have to remove the plugs and see if they glow good and red when powered up. Rest the plug on the block and turn on the ignition, watch the tip of the plug, if it doesnt get red hot and smoke a bit its no good
