Hi
Has anyone had a go at trying to reduce the engine noise level in the cab, I know it's an old diesel vehicle and it is going to be noisy, but it would be nice to get the level down just a bit so at least you don't need the radio on 3/4 volume to hear it, I don't want to do anything too major, currently the cab is carpeted with under felt, but there is nothing on the bulkhead between the cab and engine bay.
I just wondered if anyone had tried to reduce the noise with any success, before I waste my time trying things at random?
Cheers Dave

Does yours have the sound felt on the bonnet and the padded material on the cab side of the bulkhead?

In answer to your question, yes it does have a lining on the inside of the bonnet, on the cab side of the bulkhead is rubber matting, but it is quite squishy so I guess that it has insulation behind it, being a factory (Pilote) built camper I guess that they put all the usual nose limiting material for it day.

Ok, you can remove the standard bulkhead stuff and fit acoustic material to the bulkhead, then replace the standard stuff over the top. Lift the rubber floor mat and do the same, Ebay sells loads of different tyoes of sound deadening stuff.

Thanks for that, I had a look at eBay, and yes there are lots of stuff available thanks, although I think I will have to leave it for a few months until we have a good period of reliable weather before I attempt the task.
