Tho I've not posted here for a while I've been very busy on the van...still working on furnishings..stripping and replacing the ply....stripped cooker and sink unit and the cooker itself..needed serious refurb..couple of bits here.. [/url
I've mentioned my push up roof in the thread and when a challange it's gonna be...I couldn't believe my luck when I see these roof panels listed on ebay....plus window frames and glass..my corners are rotten as are them small roof window rubbers ....fantastic👌 Yep....engine will.be in by end of month...😁..I done sound and insulation padding today
It's been a while since I've posted some bits .... been cleaning up that roof I managed to get....nothing to major...replace couple of timbers..this roof is nowhere near the terrible condition of the on the van...removed it yesterday ..main frames good but still rotten timers under the alloy plated lips....as said before, this is a challange I'm not looking forward to... Here u see what's under the alloy lips..
All rebuilt selves, frames supports..roof frames etc... Got on with serious rebuild of roof repairs..this includes top shelving that holds tempered rods/springs for aiding side roof panels..readers will see previous pics showing them rotted..been rather busy getting this as right as pos....
Them side roof panels lay nice and flat..tho the main roof top we down sits about 3quarter's of an inch off the vans factory roof...doing my head in this bit...as it's not possible to get it flush..it's mainly to stop water passing that part and hitting the up lip ...there's just no play to getting it to sit more...I'm think that Wayfarer made these popups for each individual van..and as i got this from another van there's this slight differances....get Andy's eye on it next week.. Yeah........engine fitting week...can't wait....oioioi 👌
