Hello all, am new to this forum so have to get use to navigating my way around. I am english but live in Switzerland since 24 years. Over 2 years ago me and my wife bought a 1981 D100 Mk2 transit motor home. Over 27 months we Spent 1700hrs restoring it and giving it a new life. We finished 1 week ago. All tests have been passed but we dont have many Kg for luggage due to the finished weight of the vehicle being heavier than before. Original weights Empty: 2060kg GVW: 24000 Axle 1: 1150kg Axle 2: 1530kg The above gave 340kg for passengers and bags etc... New empty weight after resto Empty: 2240kg This is 180kg more than before ( the weight must be in the floor and walls as there is nothing we can remove to lighten the vehicle other than spare wheel and a smaller utility battery) This leaves us 160kg for passengers and other stuff, me and the wife are combined 150kg so we have 10kg left.. Does anyone know how the Gross vehicle weight can be increased (up. Platted) i need to know: - is 2400kg really the max GVW of this vehicle (its stamped on the vin plate but could this have been down platted over the years?) - what upgrades can be done to increase the GVW, suspension, axle, brakes - what upgrades can be used (anything from a 120?) - is there an official ford contact that can advise me on this and give a written statement - where can i source parts for the upgrades Sorry for so much info but i have invested so many hrs, sweat and blood and need to make the vehicle practical. I want to tour the uk next year (corona permitting) so for sure need more weight reserve. Any advice on any points above would be greatly appreciated.... postimg.cc/gallery/4VcK8Z2

I dont know about Switzerland but in the UK its a massive job to get the GVW of a vehicle increased. It would entail springs, brakes etc to be changed to that of the higher weight tyoe van. Is this a single or double wheel type?
