Hello, I have a 1985 mk2 transit camper with a diesel engine. I was coming home from vacation, stopped at a gasstation and it didn’t start anymore. After that it got the diesel injection pump revised and some new injectors. Now is the problem that on normal roads it drives perfect, but if I go into higher rpm like on the highway it stalls with a big white cloud coming out of the exhaust. Sometimes I can start it back after a couple of minutes but sometimes I can’t start it anymore. Does anyone had the same problem or an idea of what can cause that? Thank you.

It sounds like either pump timing or a governor problem. Have you contacted the people who did the pump and injectors?

It is back at the garage who replaced everything, but it seems they can’t find what the stallingproblem is. They have send the pump already 3 times back to the people who revised it and the pump is ok they said. I’m going to let them check the timing again. What do you mean with a governor problem? Thank you for helping me. Glenn

The governor is in the pump, it limits maximum fuel and as a result RPM.
