Having retrieved puk, full mot and tax on the back of a tow truck, the tweaks for a camper week with the kids in 10 days time is now becoming a little obsessive... Mobile dean the tuner man has renewed the belts, put in a new water pump, reconnected the alternator, and replaced several and various missing assorted nuts and screws. Back tomorrow to add electronic ignition, change rear shocks and check carb. He thinks i should have a choke, im not so sure...or maybe he said he wanted to choke me. Frantic panic over seat safety meant a desperate call to tony the mobilevanman...he said in a rather charlie brooker way...dont move, i think i've got a plan! So next wednesday will see if we can get the safe seating sorted. My pitiful efforts have been...blow up the rad...and replace it, fix one wing mirror. Paint toilet room. Make snug fit letterbox for new cd radio and then fail dismally to wire. Refit rad fan (travelling dean says the wiring is too small and needs a relay, he then asked if i could fit it...i said whats a relay? Thats now on his list too. Toilet on order, rather cute plastic bag bin holder thing to go in...platform for loo to be formed. Little driving adventures in and around town to run in for devon/cornwall run for holidays...all looking positive but not cheap...hope she holds together for the next 3 years and i may break even! If its not broken...I can break it! That was July 7th!

The old gil looks a little suffered at my ownership I think...yip those were the bezels that gor whipped a couple of days after my first posts. Had a bit of a moment with the tea leafs as they drove around to get the replacements though! Have done lots to her but she looks pretty much worse in some ways. Had to change those chrome mirrors as they kept swinging in the breeze and then the bezels (drove over one of the replacements last week...agggh!) but all the suspension is done, overhauled king pins, new rad, new weber twin carb, new aerial, new cd player, new speakers (way too small and cant actually hear them) but have had 5 camping adventures now! oh, new toilet, new heater, new plates and stuff, new spare wheel and wheel brace, new gas cyliner, new twin front seats for the babies (12 and 16) so all good but not sure I have helped with the period feel!

Thanks irishtransit, its certainly been more of an adventure than we could have ever thought. The prizes were a hooge surprise and they have pride of place at my dada's house, he was so chuffed that any one in the family could ever get a cup for a car we owned!! It made a really hard summer very special indeed
