DORMOBILE!! Designed round the chassis cowl, almost nothing above the floor came from Ford. Make sure you look after that windscreen, and insure it properly. It's not a standard transit screen and is now only available to order. Those seats aren't transit either. Does seem a shame to convert her. So what is the difference between a dormobile and transit? It's says mk2 transit minibus on the logbook mate. The seats were present at manufacture according to St. John's. nice aren't they? What model do you think they are from? Do you have any photos of the seats you think should be in there?

WOW you have a house full! Or should I say van full. You might find a wood burner a bit much in a small space but our parcel van had one in a previous life so maybe not.

Hello and welcome aboard, super clean bus there Thanks mate! See above, I have her garaged while I convert her. I have just bought a 2.5Di to replace the Pinto for when I take her travelling as the pinto is pretty juicy.

I want to make her as homely as I can for the transition from living in a 2 bed bungalow onto a transit. This will only be a temporary measure until I buy a classic coach to convert for more space.

The DI is a good choice. As long as it has a bosch pump you can run veg. First dibs on the pinto! We love em here in the LEZ. On that note, dont be pestering the DVLA to change the fuel on the V5

All that came from Ford is the chassis, cab floor, wings/bulkhead and dash. The rest is built on and in the case of the seats what the original buyer paid for. Ours still has the wheelchair lift. One of our ambies came from the St Johns in Wales. Is the V5 in Welsh?

So what are the seats if not transit?

;D Strang the nieghbors loved her (lNOT). Yes shes now a pale blue like Fjord blue and we scraped the paint off the windows too. Have to say we didnt get her with seats but a couple of the donation plaques survive. Also she had been a camper in a previous life so there is a huge strong shelf over the cab that was probably a bed.

Yes I picked her up from the Gower. Wheelchair lift controls still in the bus, the lift itself was removed. So what are the seats if not transit? I think what Fred is trying to explain is that the chassis and everything back as far as the bulkhead and dash were built by Ford. Then it is sent to an independent body builder, (Dormobile for this one apparently) then they build everything else to the customers requirements using parts (seats, taillift etc) sourced from whatever companies has what was required and at the right price at the time. So therefore the seats are the original ones for that bus. It's just they were not Ford seats fitted at the factory. I hope that makes it a bit clearer

Thanks for all the info guys. The only seat in the cab is the driver and that one is grey, not as nice as the ones I took out.
