i'd imagine a roof is quite hard to get hold off.would a sheet of metal do the job too if it was strengthened underneath?

I'd go with the van option but it's got to have a proper roof. A Mk2 one is virtually identical I think, so should make it easier to source one Post up some photos of it.

yes a roof is probably the last bit to rot so if you can find a scrap one you should be OK.....

i'll have to see how everything pans out with motorhome and cortina first. when i go on my computer i'll see if there's any pics on it as the van is covered up.

I'd say van, if it's not too much work

I'd say van, if it's not too much work well she's a camper with a pop top so not the whole roof to fill.

your best options on roof replacement are a hi top or a full roof off a scrapper.

most seem to be swinging to a van so i'll see nearer the time on the roof situation(and money of course)

is it a purpose built van? mine is, has a SPecial Vehicle Order plate on it...I feel that makes it worth more as a Camper

i'd assume it is as it's seems to have had too much done to convert it with purpose built cuoboards etc. i'll have to have a look and see if there's a plate on it somewhere.

Don't go high top IMO they look awful, like someone has stuck a boat on the roof + they catch the wind when you're driving - its like being in a boat tacking down the road in a gusty side wind....

The SVO is the hi roof corky! Pos also twin batteries. The SWB roof has grooves in it so a flat sheet would be hard to seal.
