Had a motorway run today, temp stayed a lot more stable and lower than before. Heater is still toasty (had it on the dry out the floor), screen is still leaking The light throttle uphill pinking I've been struggling with appears to have gone as well (fingers crossed, touch wood etc)

Not sure where you got to on the crank pulley etc. But a late 4x4 Cosworth Sierra (green top) or Escort Cosworth has a 4PK pulley with 4 tooth trigger that should fit your Pinto. And matching water pump and alternator pulleys. Distributor with phase sensor is also a straight bolt in job. A lot of people in NZ fitting the Toyota superchargers to all sorts of engines quite successfully. They are a small roots blower, with magnetic clutch. Available in a couple of sizes too, and cheap as chips. Eaton M45 off a Mini might be a good option too
