the standard bonnet is different to the Dormobile BTW. The back edge is cut down to allow for the dash conversion.

Are you sure? All three of our Dormobiles have a special over scuttle to allow for the wide body. They also have a big deep screen that isnt the same as the standard van....

Hi everyone!
Update!!
The bus preservation group that own the Transit dormobile minibus met last night and decided that we should use the van for what it was bought for, which is the front end and other usable spares for the minibus.
To that end, we are going to dismantle the van on site, removing everything we can use from the bulkhead back then cut the front end off. We intend to keep the front end complete and dismantle it at a later date.
I've had lots of requests for various parts, I think the best thing to do is dismantle the van and report back when the parts are available.
There is a record on this post as to who wants what so it should be relatively easy to sort :-)
Cheers Steve

yep that's a Dormobile. So standard van windscreen, wings and bonnet are no good for you. Niether are the back lights and even the chassis parts, as it's based on a chassis cowl.

Hi, are the rear springs & hangers the same? What about fuel tank, handbrake and cables? Can standard wings and bonnet be modified? Steve

the spring themselves should be the same, not sure about the hanger as its a van and chassis cowl. The tank has a different filler (van on the side and chassis on the top). You could cut the back of the wings but make sure you get them right or you will end up ruining them! The bonnet is cut off too and the back edge is folded. Not sure if that's done in manufacture by Ford or if you can reproduce the finish. Put one on top of the other and you will see what I mean.

BTW if you want the springs because of the bus has a sat down look, do you have a wheelchair lift? If so you will be better off having your springs re tempered.

Hi, it's more a case of just keeping what we can as spares for the future. All we really need at present for the bus is the inner wings, light panels and steering box. Cheers Steve
