ya realise now you're gonna have to put up pics now don't ya!!I love the beetles but haven't had one for about 3-4 years. I'll gladly share them when I actually get round to sorting out photobucket ( got a feeling I'll have to up load everything again) but it will be brief as I'm aware this is a transit forum! [/quote] You can post in members other vehicles, we love all old cars and vans, Ford or otherwise

Oh and TFL only know what the DVLA tells em as far as engines and LEZ compliance/exemption goes I'm having some confusion over which engine/donor to look at I've read that the banana (4branch) is quieter than the earlier two branch? Also any advise on if there is much advantage over turbo or n/a? Thing is I've just found a 1995 smiley in the same village as me for £275. It's a non turbo but it's very convenient!! Would I regret a non turbo?

I can't say too much as i've not tried mine (2.0 pinto + 4 speed minibus) with a serious load but the previous owner was towing about a huge twin wheel German caravan with it and he thought it went ok. Personally you might be better trying yours out with the petrol and see how you go once you are used to it, you could always fit a better towing cam for a bit more go. I'm not fussed about speed or power that much. The main reason for a Di swap would be for mpg fuel reasons. I'll give you a report what mines like £ per mile once the gas conversion is on

It's all about the weight of the van I suppose , the reason I'm changing is when we took the landliner to France last year I was going through LPG like no tomorrow and going up hills was just embarrassing . If you need grunt diesel is the way to go and TD even better
