This is Peter Lee isn't it? His Ebay listings are a bit dubious to say the least aren't they? New???

You know something we don't then Andy?
Err No! I'm just reading an Ebay listing that is stating ....
'New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item in original retail packaging (where packaging is applicable). If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. See the seller's listing for full details. See all condition definitions- opens in a new window or tab'
This is a used/secondhand mat, so clearly not New.
He lists everything he sells in this way, whether it's new or not. Many people have come a cropper in this way on Ebay as they are falsely describing goods. I think more care needs to be taken when listing stuff on Ebay and in adverts generally as it can save a lot of grief & disputes.

When in doubt, ask the seller in clear simple terms "Is it really new please?"
Or whatever you think might be false.
As, when, and if it isn't new when it arrives, use the eBay system to sell him in clear simple terms, "Err, I am afraid you must have sent me the wrong one because this clearly is not new. Please will you send me the correct one."
If the seller does not return your money or send you a new one within a couple of days, start a formal complaint. Do not delay.
eBay has always returned my money. Ebay asks that I return the goods, which is a nuisance, so I do it expensively. Ebay asks me to get a certificate of postage. I send eBay proof of postage. eBay has always returned my purchase money and both lots of postage.
The seller gets caught for 2 lots of postage and he still has to pay eBay. . ;D. ;D. ;D
The fatal mistake is to listen to any excuses. Just make a formal complaint if the seller doesn't offer you money back plus both lots of postage.

Here's what l have experienced. I hag a big run in with Peter, it was one of the reasons l had a bust up with the FTF. At the time l was running another van club with somebody and had also been a member of the National Street Van Association (NASVA) so knew Peter (though not well) for many years. I was there when The Transit Van Club was formed, sat round a table at The Ace Cafe. I joined and paid my subs for the first year but never again. I fealt Peter ran the club for profit. Fine if its a business but not a club for enthusiasts. I was also told that there was a big eliment of profit with the NSVA too, and was told this but wouldnt see it at first. I am told much of the parts sold have been donated to the club often by Ford themselves.
