Morning All.
Finally got some spare time and bought myself a Mk2 Transit 190 LWB. Limited history, but believe its an ex-AA Van (Or else somebody loved bright yellow in 1984).
It's now running a 2.5Di with an MT75 Box and a very noisy Diff...The plan is to fit a Turbo DI, fit IFS and full repaint.
Picked up my donor 1996 chassis cab and thankfully it has a 100Ps engine with only 47K, also has a wide ratio MT75. It was parked outside all its life on wet grass and just rotted through....Hence the low mileage and early 'end'...Picked up a Bosch 145 Pump from a 2000 van.
Picked up a genuine Ford Intercooler & Rad from a 115PS Mk5.
The 115PS Chassis Cab also donated its 4.63 Diff.
This will be a slow project, hopefully this winter will see the Turbo DI Transplant at least

Welcome mate! You can use the rear axle too, but you will end up with 15in wheels. Done many Mk3 (14in wheel) axle swaps with chassis cabs. The Mk5 is a narrower track but it should be OK with a twin wheeler.

Cheers FredTransit...
That's the plan, swop the complete axle and run with 15" wheels. Should be handy swop to move the spring saddles and shock mounts

Looks tidy.
Are they aftermarket rear arches as they look different to the ones on mine, more flared?

I prefer the metal arches. We have the flexi arches on the bullion van, and they never look right.

Mine was a genuine school bus - I've still got the side windows if you desperately wanted one - I still have a plate saying who it was donated to the school by!!
Those flexi arches look a different profile to mine which is a bit wierd?

Those flexi arches look a different profile to mine which is a bit wierd? But can you imagine the wheels you could fit under them with the right offset? lol
