Hi all. I've been in here as a guest for a while now looking for something I could use to ferry the family to car shows with my Mk1 fiesta in tow. I was initially planning on a SWB van with rear seats for the kids but after many "discussions" with the boss I began to look for something that might appeal to the whole family, ie a camper! The requirements were: •5-birth •LEZ compliant (ruling out Diesel) •and a bit of oomph to be able to pull a trailer A couple of weeks ago I found the answer A '78 Travelhome with the legendary SVO 3.0 Essex V6! It's a bit of a project so expect lots of questions

That looks like a sensible choice. Good motor, should give you the oomph you require. Are there seats in the back with seat belts? Lots of cost saving on accommodation too. Welcome.

Thanks for the welcome!
There are 3 forward facing seats with lap belts in the back but the whole thing needs a refit so I'm planning on finding a way to fix proper 3-points in.

Hello and welcome. A nice project to have there. I presume by towing the Fiesta you mean on a trailer? If not be careful of the law - officially a dolly is only legal for recovery, and if the car/tailer weighs above 750kg all wheels touching the road have to be braked. I've just been through all of this for our motorhome and a Cortina.

Thanks. Yeah it will be on a trailer, but having passed my test after January '97 (by 4 bloody months!) I will have to take a trailer test first.
