Hello,
Got my van running again after a couple of weeks and there seems to be a rattle that appears under acceleration between certain rpm and then disappears again. When the the clutch is pressed while rattling, the rattle disappears, when clutch is released it returns. Van runs fine, not sure if this is a common/harmless sound or if something needs to be changed soon. What could be the cause of this sound?
2L 1982 petrol transit.
Regards,

It could be the clutch release bearing. Is it the 4 speed or OD?

Poss.loose/rattleling baffle in 1st exhaust box?(easy fix, hammer),or gearleaver itself, filled gaiter where it goes into box with grease on mine, stopped rattle.

Have you still got the heat shield on the exhaust manifold? They often rattle.

It could be the clutch release bearing. Is it the 4 speed or OD? Yes I believe it's only 4th speed. Is it likely to be the clutch release bearing and does it need replacing ASAP? Thanks.

Try adjusting the clutch cable, it could be the release fork rattling.
