quick one folks.....are the mk1 and mk2 side loading doors the same,...ie are the hinge fittings interchangeable. for my mk1 crewcab conversion ive got a mk2 pillar section i cut from a scrapper and a nice side door from malta that i got from victor. i know the drivers side panel will work out fine for extending my cab but will i need to scource a scrap mk1 to cut the side door aperature from if the mk2 hinges are different.

Do you need the roof? Did you cut off much of it with the pillar?

Mk1 & MK2 side loading doors are not interchangeable, the hinges are a different spacing.

thanks a mill ralph for confirming this....i had the door and panels stored in different locations. should have checked before,....yes i sized it up this morning and see what you mean. as for the roof i made sure to leave a nice bit of material above the gutter rail as i dont want to be doing much welding down in the gutter area if possible,.....i have a couple of cab roofs so im hoping i have the makings of the roof extension. thanks again ralph.

Damn have you got the front roof left? The front of the roof section was damaged for years and pitted through....gone to the scrappers.
